I'm actually shocked and sad that I never wrote a review for Baia. I just figured it was always going to be around for the long run! But now, I must say Bye to Baia as they are closing at the end of this month about 3.5 years. Baia is hands down my favorite restaurant in all of San Francisco. Whenever there's a special occasion, or when people ask what my favorite restaurant is, or if people ask me what delicious or "innovative" vegan cuisine is. I've had many date nights, birthdays, farewell dinners, and more here. I remember when Baia first announced its opening - how sweet the news to hear that a failed French restaurant that used to serve foie gras has now been replaced with a vegan restaurant. And not just any vegan restaurant, a Matthew Kenney restaurant. I've tried many Kenney restaurants across the country and love his innovation, style, flavor, and passion for bringing fine dining vegan cuisine to the public. I've eaten here more times than I could count and can't cover every dish I've tried but the most memorable dishes are: -The garlic knots: OGs remember! And they eventually took it away because apparently, people got too full on them, but I think that was a mistake...People came just for this dish!! -The Lasagna - SO GOOD and they took it away last week the day before I had my last dinner. From the pizzas to the fresh pasta, to the appetizers and cocktails, there weren't many dishes I didn't enjoy. Of course, you have to appreciate how beautiful this restaurant is with the breathtaking bar and chandelier and intimate seating arrangements. This is a huge loss for the vegan community, but also for the neighborhood. It will take me a while to get over this. I just hope that vegan businesses that are left can thrive. May Matthew Kenney bless us with another restaurant in the bay area in the future.

I read all the reviews and looked all over the internet to find a delicious and higher end place for my anniversary dinner, and after reading reviews I was nervous but I can't believe some people give this place anything less than 4 stars. It was amazing. We ordered the "phony Negroni" a n/a beverage, and then I got the disco-tech and then one other cocktail, I can't remember the name. For food we got the Meatballs (not pictured), Brussels Sprouts, a Ceaser Salad, and the Truffle Gnocchi. For dessert we shared the Olive Oil Cake and 2 espresso shots. Everything was absolutely amazing. The Brussels have mint on them which is unique and so delicious. The meatballs taste homemade, they melt in your mouth, and for those who like truffle you'll love the Gnocchi. (It's SUPER truffle flavored, not for someone who isn't obsessed with that.) Next time I'd try the Lasagna! The Ceaser salad is the best vegan Ceaser I've ever had, it has crunchy breadcrumbs on top, so flavorful. Then the olive oil cake was baked to perfection, it was perfect, especially with an after dinner espresso shot. Truly the perfect night cap. Everything came out timed so we had time between the drinks, app's, main meal, and dessert. We had our table bused multiple times and utensils replaced for each round of plates that came out. Service was very attentive, professional, and kind, all the way to the host at the front door. Total we tipped almost 30% and we spent $200. Absolutely worth it, and I can't wait to go again sometime!

Normally pasta is heavy and induces food coma but not this place. It's amazing - every dish here is vegan and it's amazingly delicious. Service also matches the great food Try to get a spot on the second floor since it's soooo pretty. Get the dessert as well !

This place has a really cute happy hour! I had the happy hour margarita and shared a small marinara pizza with a friend. It was a good deal to chill in a lovely, kinda upscale setting. My friend also had a dirty martini during the happy hour that was a hit.
